Yes, you can apply for the NDA exam even if you belong to the Arts & Commerce stream but only if you are looking forward to get in the Army wing of NDA.
The eligibility for which remains:
12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. The maximum age should not cross 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year succeeding the year of examination.

Yes off course commerce candidate are eligible to apply for NDA Examination . Any stream ( ie :- Commerce / Arts / Science / Vocational ) candidate may eligible for NDA Examination .

Commerce stream candidates only eligible for Army academy , there are not eligible for Airforce as well as Navy academy . So, If your interested Army academy then you may apply for NDA Examination .

The Selection Procedure for NDA Examination based on Written Examination / Medical Examination and Interview .

-For Army Academy :- You should complete 12th standard in any discipline from recognized university .

-For Navy Academy and Airforce Academy :- You should complete 12th standard in science with Physics and Mathematics from recognized university .

Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for NDA Examination and There is no Minimum percentage of marks require for NDA Examination . Pass marks is enough to apply for NDA Examination .

Your age should be 16.5 years to 19 years and relaxation will not applicable for any category candidates .

Only Unmarried male candidate are eligible to apply for the NDA Examination and You should be Citizen of India .

NDA Stands for National Defence Academy Examination , this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year .

You can join any one of the following Defence services by cracking this examination .

-Army wings
-Navy wings
-Air force

Minimum Height :-

~~Army wings :- Acceptable height is 157.5 cms .

~~Navy wings :- Acceptable height is 157 cms .

~~Air force :- Acceptable height is 162.5 cms .

You have to pass 12th examination from a recognized School or equivalent qualification and those who are appearing in the final year of 12th exam may also eligible to apply .

You must have a minimum 16.5 years and maximum 19 years and there is no relaxation given to the reserved categories .

So if you are complying with all the above requirements then you are surely eligible for appearing in the UPSC examination.

Iam 17 yrs old and iam studying in class 11th Commerce stream{without maths} . Please tell me whether i can write the NDA exam conducted on 21st of this month......

Eligiblity For The NDA

The National Defense Academy(NDA) Exam is conducted every year in the months of April and August..by the UPSC..

Candidates appearing for the NDA Exam must satisfy the following conditions :-

>> Candidate must be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years..

>> candidate must be an unmarried male..

>> candidate must have completed 12th from a recognized board (with Physics and Maths if you wish to apply for Air Force or Navy)

You can definitely appear for the NDA but you are eligible to apply only for the Indian Army..

You can fill the forms from 22nd December,2012 to 21st Jan,2013

The NDA-1 2013 shall take place on 7th April,2013..
