I m 33yrs and completed tybcom in oct10 i was not able to complete because of eco kt can i appear for ipcc exam in may12

i want to appear ipcc but i get kt in one sub in tybcom if i clear tybcom in second appear then i appear ipcc aisa ho sakta hai kya

There is a provision to get direct entry in the IPCC course of Chartered Accountancy. However it is only possible if you are meeting some criteria. Those who can not meet the criteria are required to appear for Common Proficiency Test.

Exemption Criteria

1. 55 percent or more marks in Commerce graduation.

2. At least 60 percent marks in non commerce graduation.


This is the criteria that you have to meet to get direct admission in IPCC. Apart from IPCC you will also register for articleship. In case you don't know there is a requirement to complete 3 years of mandatory articleship.

You will have to complete 9 months of articleship after which you can appear for the exams for IPCC. The exams are divided into two groups.


Group 1

1. Accounting

2. Business Laws,Ethics and Communication

3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management

4. Taxation

Group 2

5. Advanced Accounting

6. Auditing and Assurance

7. Information Technology and Strategic Management


There is a possibility that you may not be able to meet the criteria for direct entry. In that scenario you will have to appear for Common Proficiency Test. It is conducted in June and December.


CPT Exam Pattern

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude


These 4 subjects are divided into 2 groups. You should score 30 percent marks in each group to clear it. Otherwise you will have to reappear for the Common Proficiency Test. After clearing CPT you will be able to register for the IPCC.

To get direct admission in the IPCC Stage of the CA programme you need to fulfill the below eligibity

>> Commerce Graduates needs to score minimum aggregate of 55% marks in B.COM to get exemption from appearing in the CPT exams.

A candidates can get exemption from giving the CPT exams if he/she has studied atleast 3 papers from the below list of papers.
Accounting,
Auditing,
Mercantile Laws,
Corporate Laws,
Economics,
Management including Financial Management,
Taxation including Direct Tax Laws, Indirect Tax Laws etc.,
Costing,
Business Administration,
Management Accounting


>> For Non Commerce Graduates, if they have scored more than 60% marks in Graduation, they get exemption from appearing in the CPT exams and get direct admission in the IPCC stage
