As you have mentioned that you have done Master of Business Administration (MBA) and have scored 55% marks, you will be considered eligible for National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grant Commission but will only be allowed to take the test in "Management".

In order to take the test in "Commerce", as per the UGC (University Grant Commission) guidelines, one must hold a master degree in commerce and must have scored the minimum required percentage of marks in the program.

Since you have secured 55 percent marks you are eligible for the National Eligibility Test. However you can not choose Commerce as the subject. In order to select Commerce as the subject you must have completed post graduation in commerce which would be Master of Commerce.

Since you have completed Master of Business Administration you will be eligible for National Eligibility Test for the Management subject. You can not appear for any subject which is not related to your post graduation degree.

The National Eligibility Test is conducted in June and December. You should give yourself some time to prepare. At least 4-5 months should be given to prepare for the National Eligibility Test. If you haven't started preparing for the National Eligibility Test yet then I will suggest you to appear for December exam.

Eligibility

1. Post graduation degree is mandatory to appear.

2. Should secure minimum of 55 percent marks.

3. SC/ST should secure 50 percent or above marks.

4. The final year candidate is also eligible.

5. Management will be subject for MBA graduates.

6. There is no restrictions on attempts for NET.

7. The age limit is 28 years for JRF.

Age Relaxation JRF

1. 3 years - OBC

2. 5 years - SC/ST

Age Limit for Lectureship

1. There is no upper age limit.
