To be eligible for UPSC exam (Civil Services Examination), one should have a graduation
degree in any stream from a recognised university.

You have mentioned here that you are an engineering drop out student which means
you do not have a graduation degree right now.

At first you will have to complete graduation in any stream then only you can apply
for the exam.
I would suggest you take admission in some college in a course which you think suits
to you and then start your preparation for UPSC right from the first year.
If your preparation goes well during graduation you can apply for the exam
during final year.

I think you haven't prepared sincerely for the exam till now so if you can't apply this
year, it is not at all a matter of tension.

sadly and simply u can't.as u have not completed ur engg which means u r just intermediate pass student.applying for upsc require a min of three or more year of graduation degree with any stream.so take admission in any of graduate course ASAP.if there is trace of possibility to join ur engg back,do join it.once i also felt dropping out engg but with god grace i continued keeping all my feeling and depression aside and now im in final year which gives me feeling of greatness in me becoz may be one day as an engg i should be able to contribute and bring innovation to this world.may be one day......

Dear Aspirant,

=>Don't get disappointed but at the stage if you don't have any Bachelor's Degree then you can't.

=> But am sure you must have been trying to get another Bachelor's Degree or may be wanna complete this one.

=>Will suggest you first you complete your Bachelor's and then try to get through the UPSC Exam.

Am sure you can do it,in future.

Best Luck for Future.

UPSC-UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION Conducts examination for various sector and Dept. under Central Government.

You have not mention for which UPSC exam you are interested after drop out from Engineering.

Anyway you can apply for UPSC conducted examination such as NDA and SCRA.

NDA- NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam can be applied by 12th pass candidate within the age of 16.5 to 19 years for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

SCRA-SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICE exam can be applied after 12th pass for Mechanical Dept. of Indian Railway.

But as you are a drop out student from Engineering that means you hhave not completed your Graduation Degree hence you are not eligible to appear for the exam conducted by UPSC like Civil Service Exam, IES and CDS etc.

Civil Service Exam can be applied by the candidate having completed Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age.

IES-Indian Engineering Service can be applied by those who has completed Graduation Degree in Engineering within the age of 21 to 30 years.

CDS-COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE can be applied by those who has completed Graduation Degree in any stream within the age of 19 to 25 years of age.

So if you are interested for these UPSC exam then you have to complete your Graduation Degree First.

dear friend,
As you have mentioned that you are a drop out student then you will not be eligible for the UPSC exam..

To appear in UPSC exam you have to complete the graduation first..
After being a graduate you only be able to appear in UPSC exam or any kind of entrance exam for higher studies..

Eligibility for UPSC exams:----------------------

*Candidate must have complete the graduation course in any trade..
**Final year candidates are also eligible for the exam..
***Age should be in between 21-30 years.
For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years..
****Candidate must be citizen of India..

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.
So, first complete the graduation course...
Then think about these exams..

All the best..
