Can I directly do GNM without doing ANM course?
Sir i have currently given my 12 class boards.
i am from medical stream and want to pursue in nursing. so can i directly do gnm without doing anm or is it compulsory to do it? Do answer it sir. . |

No,you can't do GNM without doing ANM course because it is necessary for a candidate to be registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council for doing GNM course.
The full form for GNM is General Nursing & Midwifery. The eligibility criteria for B.Sc. GNM are following:- -The candidate should have passed 10+2 class in Science (PCB) & English with 40% marks in aggregate,or 10+2 in Arts from a recognized Board with 40% marks,or 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks. The candidate should be medically fit. The candidate age should be in between 17 years to 35 years. |

GNM stands for General Nursing & Midwifery. GNM is the diploma course. This course duration is three and half years.
Candidate should be 10+2 class passed or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with 55% marks. 5% relaxation is to SC/ST for GNM Programme. Age should be minimum 17 year and maximum 35 year for admission to the G.N.M course. Candidate should be medically fit. GNM Colleges in India-

Yes, you are eligible for GNM course.
Eligibility for General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Age for admission will be between 17 and 35 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Minimum education: 10+2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects with aggregate of 45% marks. Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council can also apply. In addition to the above, admission procedure can be laid down by concerned State Nursing Council/Nursing Examination Boards The documents required to be submitted during admission are; Certificates of Matriculation, +1/+2 Higher Secondary or the previous examination passed. Character certificate from the head of the Institution last attended. Detailed Marks Sheet, Migration Certificates. Attested copies of SC/BC/ST-Certificate from Executive Magistrate if required. Copies of any other documents (Qualification, Sports, Cultural activities etc.) Eight copies of passport size photographs. Domicile certificate. |
