In most of institutions, the 1st year course of two year full time MBA program
is common. In the second year candidates are allotted specialization on the basis of
their choice and merit in first year.

The admission to MBA program requires graduation in any discipline.

So, technically you can do MBA in IT.

MBA in IT doesn't at all require knowledge of IT like a B.Tech. or B.Sc. graduate of IT stream
possess.

You should not at all be panic on this topic.

You should prepare for leading MBA entrances so that you can get admission in a good
college.

By the time you will be finishing your 1st year you will come to know about all the
disciplines and their scope and so about the MBA in IT also.

At that time if you realize that MBA in IT is suitable to a student like you then go with it
otherwise choose some other branch.

Eligibility criteria:- You need to have a bachelor's degree (3-year course) or equivalent in any discipline recognised by any Indian University / AICTE as eligible for post-graduate studies.

You can apply while you are in your final year of graduation. If you do get through the admission test, you will be given provisional admission on the condition that you provide your mark sheet and a certificate of passing by a certain date.

So you can easily do your MBA specialization in any field. So no need to worry about your commerce background. Go ahead and prepare hard. All the best
