Re: Can I do Mechanical Engineering after doing BSc IT and 12th science with 40%?
Dear Friend
If you are looking for admission in B.Tech. then B.Sc. degree doesn't come in picture. Your admission will be based on your 12th qualification only. Though, there are very less no. of entrance exams that allow candidates with such lower percentage of marks but I don't think such criteria stands in State government engineering entrances. Therefore if your state government engineering entrance doesn't put such restriction then you can apply for the entrance exam to get admission in B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. Your B.Sc. degree may come in action if you apply for lateral entry in B.Tech. This entry scheme is for only those students who have completed either diploma in engineering or B.Sc. This scheme is best suited for you because you will get admission in 2nd year of B.Tech. and hence the course duration shall be three years only. Some of the colleges/universities for lateral entry are; Indraprastha University Cochin University KIITS, Orissa VIT Vellore MIT Manipal Thapar University Also, state government engineering entrance exam is conducted for lateral entry. **There would hardly be a university/college offering distance education in B.Tech. (Mechanical) because it has been stopped by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. |

hello dear
sorry, you can't do directly Mechanical Engineering after doing BSc IT. that means, through the lateral entry scheme you can't take admission in Mechanical Engineering. but you can take admission in computer science or IT engineering after doing BSc IT. to do degree Mechanical Engineering, you have to give JEE test. all the best....... |

It is very critical to say whether you can get admission in college in ME because every university has it's own strategy for doing admission such as age,and mainly 12th standard marks. As your marks in 12th standard is weak so its little big difficult to get admission but you may crack it if you take chances on private colleges.perhaps you can get success.

It's a very tough things for you.If you really want to do ME after BSc IT then you have to give WBJEE.Through WBJEE you can apply but for this you should have min 55% to 60% marks on your 12th standard. But dnt give up just try your best..
Best of luck.. |
