i am doing my final year b.a english .can i enter as officer in defence field,. What is the procedure to join

If you want to join indian army as a officer then, CDS (combined defence services) will be the best option for you.CDS conducted by UPSC, twice in a year.
CDS 1st in mid february and CDS 2nd in september. CDS 2nd, details for 2011-
*notification date-30/4/2011
*last date to submit the form offline/online-30/5/2011
*date of exam-18/9/2011.
Eligibility criteria-
*candidate should be graduate with minimum aggregate 60%(for unreserved category), from affiliated university in any stream.
After qualification you will have choice to join one of the disciplene from three, navy , defence and air force on the basis of your educational qualification.

can i join women indian army after doing b.sc home science or not?

dear friend,
After doing B.A in english you want to join in defense, for that you have to appear in defense entrance exam conducted by UPSC..
you have to appear in CDSE(combined defense service exam)..
after clearing CDSE they will call you for SSB..
you have to crack SSB to join in defense as a officer..
your age should be less than 25 years..
and you have to complete your graduation..
if you fulfill the criteria then you can apply for CDSE..

Yes you are eligible to apply for Indian Defence as an officer after the
graduation. You can apply for the Indian Air force, Army and Navy through
Combined Defence Service Examination. This examination is conducted by
the UPSC twice in a year. To apply for this examination you need the following
eligibility criteria.

Education Qualification
For the CDS exam candidate should be graduate in any discipline
from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year
examination are also eligible to apply for the CDS examination.

Age Limit
Indian Military Academy 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy 19-23 Years
Naval Academy 19-22 Years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years

IMA AGE 19-24
OTA AGE 19-25
NA AGE 19-23
these are vacanies in cds and you can easily apply for one department.

Month of exam- It is conducted twice a year. In the month of April and September.

Yes you can join the defence as an officer after completing your graduation. You can join any of the three services. There are 2 modes of entry after graduation. First is CDSE or combined defense service examination. Any graduate after graduation and with more than 60% can write the exam. After getting through the exam you will be able to be a permanent commissioned officer in the defense. Another option is the short service commissioned officer. Here you can be an officer for only a fixed tenure.

Dear aspirant,

-Yes you can enter defence but you will be only eligible for Indian Army through CDS examination.

-You can give CDS exam which is a combined defence services examination.

-The age limit for CDS is 19 to 25 years for those who want to join Indian Army.

-You have to face objective type paper and SSB interview to become a indian army officer.

-You should be medically fit and height and weight should be proportionate for Army.

-You can also apply for AFCAT ground duty branch if you want to join Air force ground duty branch.
