By the details provided by you i.e., 120 or so marks in your aieee 2011

your expected rank is in between 25000 and 30000 so by this rank it is highly impossible except if you have any good reservation class like

SC/ST Reservation

That too getting in NIT Rourkela is not a small thing

You must atleast get 240 plus to think about NIT"s the competition in these exams is that heavy

I will provide you some details of NIT Rourkela and NIT Durgapur

i.e., The opening and closing ranks of these exams according to the previous years statistics

by this you can make cofirm whether you will get a seat or not.

If you have any NIT nearby like you should be in the same state then only you have chances of getting under local quota

i.e. Home State where the NIT is situated

I think you would be getting marks around 140-150.
Conclusion is that if you are a general category, then dont wait for a seat in NIT, but if you are a reserved category student, then there are some slight chances.

And one more fact, if you Roukela or durgapur(domicile state), then you will get 50% reservation also, conclusion is that you can get desired branch.

no way,it is very difficult to get seat in NIT ROURKELA....

YOU HAVE TO GET MORE THAN 90% TO GET SEAT IN NITs...

GETTING SEAT IN NIT ROURKELA WIT 33% OF MARK IN AIEEE IS BIT HARDER...

U CAN GO BY PRIVATE COLLEGES...

TRY UR LEVEL BEST....

sir,i am getting 151-160(gen) in aieee 2011.i want to do an integrated msc in physics from nit rourkela.all my hopes have been destroyed due to my extremely poor knowledge in chemistry and uncontrolled anxiety during the exam.i am in depression(my father cannot digest this fact as i was always very good in my coaching institute)....i am from assam. NIT rourkela took till 16000-17000(3rd round) and till 25,000(5th round)....but 5th round is a big risk as i would loose a seat in my local NIT,silchar(mechanical engineering)...and everybody is saying that 2011 paper was way,way easier than 2010...is it true?

Dear candidate,
Here, you have not mention than in which category you have belong (sc,st,obc or general).
NIT rourkela and NIT durgapur are require minimum 600 above score for open category, 550 above for obc category, 400 above sc and 350 above st category candidate.

HI,
I am sorry to not get admissions in top college after getting low percentage is very low that is 33%.
As per my knowledge you are not eligible for Govt engineering college.

If you want you can take admissions in any low ranking private college in India.
In my opinion you should try next year so that you may get top college.
