Re: Can I give CLAT exam after passing B.Com 1st semester? Do I have to do PG with CLAT?
Common Law Admission Test is for the candidates who have completed 12th standard. There is no need to do post graduation for CLAT. The Common Law Admission Test is conducted for admission in BA LLB course.
If your age is less than 20 years then you can apply for the Common Law Admission Test. Otherwise you should complete Bachelor of Commerce course and after that you can apply for the LLB course. BA LLB also known as integrated LLB course includes course of a bachelor course and LLB. This is why you don't need to do graduation to apply for it. The duration of the course is 5 years. On the other hand LLB can only be pursued after completing graduation. The duration of LLB is 3 years. By pursuing the first course, you can save one year. This is the only difference between two courses. Therefore you have now two options. You can complete B.Com and then apply for LLB. Otherwise you can appear for Common Law Admission Test and if cleared you can take admission for the integrated LLB course. BA LLB Eligibility 1. Must have completed 12th from any recognized board. 2. At least 50 percent marks in 12th. 3. SC/ST candidates need 45 percent marks. 4. The maximum age limit to apply is 20 years. 5. There is 2 years relaxation for SC/ST. 6. The criteria for OBC is same as General. Please remember that you must have completed 12th to appear for CLAT since at the time of applying you are required to present all the documents. Also the integrated Law course and LLB are not offered through correspondence. |

Re: Can I give CLAT exam after passing B.Com 1st semester? Do I have to do PG with CLAT?
The are two ways to join a Law course .One is after 10+2 and other after Graduation.
If you apply before 10+2 then it will be of 5 years duration. If you do after Graduation then it will be of 3 years duration. As you have written that you are doing your Graduation B.Com. Ist year and want to join law course. If you apply for CLAT then your B.Com. will be of no use. And you have to leave B.Com. if you get admission in law degree. If you want to complete your Graduation and then apply for Law course then your B.Com. degree will not be wasted. So it will be upto you to decide what you want to do. CLAT is Common Law Admission Test and it is conducted every year for admission into Top Law Colleges of India. If you want to apply for CLAT then you must be 10+2 pass in any stream from a recognized board of education. The rank will decide which college you will get . Hence be prepared for CLAT if you want to get a good college. For more information visit: http://www.clat.ac.in |

Re: Can I give CLAT exam after passing B.Com 1st semester? Do I have to do PG with CLAT?
Ofcourse yes, you are eligible for the CLAT exam. Since you have not mentioned about the score in class 12, anyone scoring 50 per cent in class 12 is eligible for the exam. If you cracked CLAT with good score then you will get admission in these top law colleges like;
>> National Law School of India University, Bangalore >> NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad >> National Law Institute University, Bhopal >> West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata >> National Law University, Jodhpur >> Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur >> Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar >> Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow >> Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala >> Chanakya National Law University, Patna >> National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi >> National Law University, Orissa >> National University of Study & Research in Law, Ranchi >> National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam. CLAT will have a paper of 90 minutes containing 150 questions from sections English: 35 questions, General Knowledge/Current Affairs: 35 questions, Mathematics: 10 questions, Legal Aptitude: 35 questions, Logical Reasoning: 35 questions. |

Re: Can I give CLAT exam after passing B.Com 1st semester? Do I have to do PG with CLAT?
You can give the CLAT exam anytime after you pass the 12th grade until you are of 20 years of age.
But I would suggest you that you should complete your graduation first as you will anyhow not be able to do 2 degrees at the same time. So I would suggest you to complete your graduation and then directly enroll for the 3 year LLB course. |
