No , it is no possible because you have not completed intermediate(12th) examination . Minimum education Qualification for this examination is 12th from a recognized School or equivalent qualification .

NDA Stands for National Defence Academy Examination and the examination is conducted twice in a year by Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of following Services like Army wings , Navy wings , Air force Academy .

Army wings :- you should have a completed 12th class with any stream like Commerce or Science or any others course from a recognized School or equivalent qualification .

Navy / Air force :- you should have a completed 12th class with mathematics and physics from a recognized School or equivalent qualification .

If you are select Science Stream in 11th Std then you are eligible to apply for all the wings in NDA examination . Suppose if you are not select the Science Stream then you are eligible to apply only Army wings and you are not eligible to apply for Air force / Navy Services .

And your age should be between 16.5 years and 19 years at the time of appearing for National Defence Academy Examination and there is no relaxation given to the reserved categories .

Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply . Those who are appearing in the 12th exam can also eligible to apply .

No, it is not possible to submit NDA application Form after 10th as the minimum educational qualification for this is 12th pass.

UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION is conducting entrance exam for NDA(National Defence Academy) two times every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good physical Fitness, can apply for NDA.

So in order to apply for NDA you should complete 12th first with any stream.

As you are in your 10th standard right not, you should be aware of the Basic Eligibility Conditions to apply for the NDA exam are :-


1. You should be an Unmarried Male Indian Citizen.

2. Your age should not be less than 16.5 years and at the same time it should not be more than 19 years as in the year of applying.

3. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board in India like the CBSE, ICSE, etc..

4. If you wish to apply for the Indian Air Force or the Naval wing, then Physics and Mathematics are compulsory to have being studied.

5. Commerce students may only apply in NDA for the Army wing.

6. You should also be physically fit and sound.


Thus one has to stand firm in all these criteria's to be eligible to sit for the NDA exam.

The exam consists of the elementary level studies like Maths, Science, General Knowledge, History, Geography, and other topics.


This year the NDA is scheduled on 15th April 2012 (Sunday).

The notification for this was out on 31st December 2011 and the last date to register for the same was 30th January 2012.

So for this year, you have missed your attempt if you have failed to apply on time.

However if your age lies within the limits, then next year you may try for sure.

Sorry to say that you cannot apply for the NDA examination because, now you have completed your 10th standard.


And, To be eligible for the NDA examination, you will have to complete your 12th standard.

Applicant's date of birth should fall between 02 July 1995 and 01 January 1998 both dates are included.
For date of birth proof, UPSC will consider matriculation certificate only. No other documents are considered by the commission.
Applicant should submit the academic certificates after being shortlisted for SSB interviews.

Educational qualifications required:
In order to apply for Army wing of National Defence Academy, applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam in any stream.
For Air Force Academy and Navy wings of NDA, candidate should have Mathematics and Physics subjects in his 10+2 exam.
Candidates who are studying in second year of 10+2 exam are also eligible to apply for NDA & NA exam (II).
For Naval Academy also applicant must have studied Physics and Maths at 10+2 level.

No, you need to complete class 12 or submit the form in the final year of class 12. On completion of the training, you will be considered as Gentlemen cadet. You can always opt for the NDA entrance test provided you have studied maths in class 10. During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 23 years of age. There will be a compulsory paper of Mathematics in the NDA Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission. After completion of graduation, interested candidates can appear for the SSB exams for Indian Military Academy. While on completion of engineering, one can also enter as TES entry.
