I would recommend that you pursue higher studies before thinking about getting a job because there aren't exactly a lot of jobs after B.Com course. You can apply for some government jobs but apart from that there isn't much scope with just the B.Com degree.

If you have financially secure then my recommendation would be to pursue post graduation course or other courses depending on what exactly do you want to do after completing the studies. The decision should be based on what exactly do you love and would love to choose as profession.

Here are some examples for you.

M.Com - One of the most obvious choice would be completing M.Com. After completing post graduate the best option would be to apply for lecturer job in central/state government colleges. To do so you would have to appear in NET/SET entrance exam for which the requirements are:

1. At least 55 percent marks in M.Com.

2. For SC/ST the requirement is 50 percent marks.

3. Final year students of post graduate course may also apply.

4. There is no age limit for lecturer job.


MCA - Master of Computer Applications is another very viable option if you have interest in computers and would like to pursue career in it. The MCA course deals in softwares, networking, programming languages etc. If passed with at least 65 percent marks then you stand a very good chance to getting job in MNC IT company. The requirements of MCA are:

1. Maths should be one of the subjects in 12th or graduation course.

2. You should secure at least 50-60 percent marks in graduation course.

3. You would have to appear in one of the several entrance exams for MCA.

After completing MCA you also have the option of appearing in GATE entrance exam for admission in M.Tech from IIT or other leading Engineering colleges in India.


MBA - Master of Business Administration is also a very good option for B.Com students. You can go for MBA in Finance and pursue career in banking, insurance, stock trading etc. There are just plenty of options for you after completing MBA course. I must tell you that MBA is among the top picks of the B.Com graduates.

The requirement to get admission in B-School is to appear in entrance exams like CAT/MAT. While for CAT you need at least 50 percent marks in case of General and 45 percent marks for SC/ST in graduation course. There is no such requirement to appear in MAT entrance exam.


Some of the other options are:

Chartered Accountancy (CA) - The job of CA is to maintain the accounts of the firm. You can work as CA for a firm or independently, the choice is yours. The other responsibilites of Chartered Accountant are Accountancy, Auditing, Cost accountancy, Taxation, Investigation etc.

Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)

Cost Accountancy (from ICWA)

Company Secretary ship (CS)

There is ample of career scope after B.Com. which depend upon your interest and ability.

After Bachelor of Commerce, you can go with higher studies like:-

-M.Com. - Master of Commerce
-MCA - Master of Computer Application
-MBA - Master of Business Administration
-LL.B. - Bachelor of Law

To get admission to these courses you should have secured at least 50% marks and have to appear and crack entrance exams.

You may go with any of the professional courses after B.Com. such as:-

-CA - Chartered Accountancy
-CS - Company Secretary
-CWA - Cost and Work Accountant

After B.Com. you can apply for Civil Service Exam/CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam for various Govt. job conducted by UPSC.

You may apply for Bank job such as Clerical cadre or Probationary Officer's job by appearing through its exam generally conducted by SBI and IBPS.

1. to go for HIGHER STUDIES..
2. and the other option is to find job..

1. you can go for CA , if you have scored 55% in BCOM so you dont need to go through CPT...

2.YOU can also go for CS i.e COMPANY SECRETORY.
