I have finished my diploma in mechanical engineering in chhattisgarh . now i want do B.E. course in chhattisgarh. i would like to know which colleges offer lateral entry and list of institution and procedure of admission for direct entry into second year B.E. after Diploma Engineering.So if you could help then it would be really kind of you.

how should i got admission in pu chd specially through lateral entry?

I have passed 12th in MCVC 2vocational course in Electronic.T with 66%.(2009)
and also completed Diploma in Electronic & vedio Engg.(with 1st class 2012)
can i get admission in P.Vasantdada Patil college of Engg. for B.E Marine Engg. & also other colleges in mumbai give me details about fees structure,Education lone.
How can apply for this marine Engg.? & which Entrance Exam is required.
i know (may be) Lateral entrance exam test(LEET) is required.
when,where & how can apply for this Entrance Exam?
this exam is available in Mumbai university? or any & which colleges/university in mumbai and maharashtra. conduct this LEET test?
give me details about LEET test (only in maharashtra state).

does pu chandigarh offer admissions by lateral entry to students with diploma in civil engineering? ?

Lateral Entry admission is given to diploma holders which allows them to take admission in the second year of Bachelor of Technology. Most colleges in the country offer this scheme of admission.

The only exception will be Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology. There is no provision to take lateral entry admission here. You can appear for Joint Entrance Exam to get admission for full 4 years course in these institutes.

Rest of the colleges offer lateral entry and even reserve some seats for it. The number of seats varies from college to college. But it ranges between 5 to 10 per cent of total seats in the engineering college.

It is advised to pick the same course in B.Tech in which you completed the diploma course. Otherwise you may find it going tough to cope with the course especially since the admission in given in second year.

The procedure of admission can also vary from college to college. There are various entrance exams.

The most common entrance exam is Lateral Entry Engineering Test. It is conducted in various states specifically for the lateral entry admission. You can appear for it if completed the diploma course with 60 percent marks.

You will find that some colleges given direct admission if you have scored higher in the diploma course. Some colleges prefer to conduct their own written test to give admission to the candidates under lateral entry scheme.
