Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
hi friend,
It is a good question, because you can easily get into animation course just after your 12th class by enrolling yourself into bachler in Animation design. But at the same time you can also persue the same after you engineering graduation. But I would like to say that if you persue it through engineering then you would have knowledge in depth of software at programming knowledge and if you choose animation in early stage then you will have knowledge of softwares at application level only. In my opinion , it is of no use to know the programming fundamental or indepth knowledge of computer since only application level software knowledge is enough. But if you have a bit interest in the programming fundamental then you can persue engineering. But I dont think so that you join engineering. |

Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
dear friend ..let me first tell every one ..that there is a misconception among students that comp Sc is needed for doing animation...My brother is a plastic engineer and he is now working in visual effect sector in Rhythm and Hues, hyderabad,...it is a hollywood company doing animation in films like Mummy,Knight and Day ,garfield etc...he had done a course in arena multi media instituition in bhubaneswar and then he di a VFx course in RACE animation institution..it is one of the top most institutions in hyderabad as well as in the country...so you can follow these footsteps..and you will find animation industry is waiting for you...
Good luck !! |

Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
in my view there is no need of studying both if you are very eager to join in animation then go through with animation by learing computer basics outside and go through it. bt if you want to study engineering then you can do multimedia and animation subject as a part time classes and then go through it seriously at a perticular phase

Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
Computer engineering is definitely not required in order to pursue animation..There are few reputed institutes in India and I guess almost all the states have one or two of them specialized in animation..That will be a bachelor degree course on animation..But yes, it is better to have some basic knowledge on computer and how it works since in order to get admission in any renowned animation college you need to be well prepared.. Therefore All The Best for your future

Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
dear friend its a nice question.
computer engineering is not at all essential for animation i am not just jocking i am also a computer engineer so i can able to understand the situation. but you need to do animation course in 2d and 3d animation. we have many such animation courses available here. so do that course. since you have asked this question i am sure that you have a nice basic knowledge about computer but you need to understand about the graphic properties of computer. so do some courses in 2d and 3d animation. if you have an interest then learning animation is also very interesting. good luck friend be an animator it has a very good scope in our market |

Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
Dear friend u r thinking positively and ur question is good. If u r interested in animation and feels that ur drawing is good and u can do better in that field, then u should go directly towards animation course. There is a vast need of animation today in india so it provides good jobs with good salary as well. So doing b.tech in computer for animation is not a good idea .

It is not at all necessary for you to do computer engineering before animation courses.Even a 12th passed can take up animation courses. But you will need to have the basic understanding of the computer as it will be the tool for animation. You can take up animation courses of even graduate level of 3 years.Courses are also there for the duration of 6 months,1 &2 years. It mainly depends on the type of course. You can visit the link for more information ......

Re: Is computer engineering necessary for animation?
Need not to worry, computer engineering is NOT AT ALL necessary to become an Animator. Even a 12th passout student is eligible. Now days most of the animation courses are available for which the minimum qualification is 12th passout with any of the stream. Most of the animation courses are of 1yr or six months diploma courses. Some of the leading private institutions are- Arena Animation, Maac.
So dont mess up with all the statement either from the parents of friends, just do what you really want to do. Good Luck |

computer science is not necessary for animation. but you may go for animation after computer science engineering. in that case your computer knowledge will be very good and you will get advantage of it.
also after your 10+2 you may directly enter into animation field. also there is course on animation technology. you may take admission in a reputed institution which have animation technology as their subject. best of luck. |

Dear friend,
Its not necessary to go for cse if you want to become an animator You can go for animation courses directly But ensure that you are taking the certified course and consider the institution also There are many emerging job opportunities for the animation field Now a days there are a lot of job opportunities from the animation field The top companies which are recruiting animation students and provides good career are Prasad EFX,Toonz Animation India,UTV Toonz,Jadoo Works etc So go to animation field directly if you have a good creative mind and talent in you Don't waste your 4 year's in engineering ,if you are not interested Good luck |
