TANCET is for admission in M.Tech/M.E./MBA/MCA/M.Arch/M.Plan programmes.Important dates regarding the exam are listed below.

1.Date of Entrance Examination: May End, 2010.
2.Availability of Application Forms: April 1st week, 2010
3.Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: April 3rd week, 2010

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is an entrance examination conducted every year by Anna University on behalf of Tamil Nadu Government.

The Anna University (Chennai) will conduct the 2011 edition of the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET 2011) on May 29 and 30, 2011.


Availability of Application forms:
The form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. Candidates can also download the form online through the website www.annauniv.edu. There will be a common form for all the programmes and candidates who want to appear for more than one programme has to pay additional examination fees for every programme
The completed application (registered through Internet) should reach The Secretary, TANCET, Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University Chennai, Chennai 600 025 on or before 26.04.2010, by 5.30 p.m. The Applications received after the due date and time will not be considered at any cost.

The application form is only for applying for the Common Entrance Test for admissions to M.B.A. / M.C.A. / M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes.

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is an entrance examination conducted every year by Anna university on behalf of Tamil Nadu government.

This exam is for giving admissions into M.Tech/M.E./MBA/MCA/M.Arch/M.Plan programs.

For the current academic year,TANCET 2011, the notification has not been announced yet.

In the previous year the exam was conducted on 29 & 30 of May 2010.

This year too we may expect the same dates or a slight change in the dates for TANCET 2011.

TANCET 2011 Registration for the Entrance Test :

(1) Spot TANCET 2011 Registration :

TANCET Exam 2011 Hall Tickets will be issued to the candidates who come in person to the following Co – ordinating Centres with a copy of 10th Std mark sheet and 12th Std mark sheet (or 3 years Diploma Certificate) and cash or Demand Draft (A single DD is sufficient for one or more programme) for the required amount towards TANCET Entrance Test Fee.




(2) TANCET Exam 2011 Registration through Internet :

The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to http://www.annauniv.edu/tancet2011.

The Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University Chennai, payable at Chennai, obtained from any Nationalized bank on or after 01.04.2011.

The completed TANCET 2011 Online Application (registered through Internet) should reach the following addresses on or before 27.04.2011, by 5.30 p.m.

Eligibility for TANCET 2011 :

TANCET MBA 2011 : A Pass* in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years duration in 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern (or) any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10 + 3 years diploma +3 years pattern (or) B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Pharm degree.

TANCET MCA 2011 : A Pass* in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern in any discipline with +2 level Mathematics (or) any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10 + 2 + 3 years pattern in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as any one of the subjects.

TANCET M.Tech. / M.E. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. : Details of the common eligibility criteria are available in the “Information & Instructions Booklet” for TANCET 2011 to be issued during Spot Registration and also in the website : http://www.annauniv.edu/tancet2011

Minimum eligibility marks will be indicated by the admitting authorities concerned in their TANCET 2011 notification for TANCET admission.

Note :

i) M. Sc. (2 years) course is not eligible for admission to M.E. (Computer Science) related courses.

ii) Candidates admitted through Lateral Entry in Degree Courses are not eligible except, B.E./B.Tech. degree.

iii) B.E./B.Tech. degrees obtained through Distance Education Mode / Week end Courses are not eligible.

Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination of the above qualifying degree in April / May 2011 can also apply for TANCET Exam 2011.

TANCET 2011 Application Form:

The Application Form is the same for all the three entrance tests. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application for one program. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC / ST Candidates). If they desire to appear at more than one program tests, they will have to pay additional fee of Rs 300/.
