The candidates who have completed their graduation are eligible to apply for the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS). This exam is conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) every year for GROUP I and
GROUP II posts in Karnataka.

The details regarding this exam is given below:

Education Qualification:
The minimum education qualification required for this exam is graduation. Candidates having higher qualification are also eligible.

Examination Scheme
The Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) examination is conducted in three phases:

1. Preliminary Examination
This examination is based on objective type questions. The preliminary examination consist of two papers .

Paper 1
General Studies and is of 150 marks.

Paper 2
In paper 2 candidate has to select one optional subject for the paper 2. The paper2 is of 300 marks.
The list of optional subjects can be obtained from the official web site of KPSC which is http://kpsc.kar.nic.in/

2. Main Examination
The main examination consist of eight papers.

Paper 1
The paper 1 is on Kannada and is of 150 marks.

Paper 2
The paper 2 is on English and General Studies is of 150 marks.

Paper 3 and 4
In paper 3 and 4 one subject is to be selected from the list of optional subjects and is of 300 marks for each paper .

Paper 5,6,7 and 8
In paper 5,6,7 and 8 each subject will have two papers and is of 300 marks for each paper.

Eligibility :

Candidates must have obtained Degree from any recognized University in India. Final Year/ Semester Degree Students can also apply for the prelims exam provided they submit Degree Certificate during the main exam.

Age Limit :

* GM age between 21 - 35 Years
* 2A/2B/3A/3B age between 21 - 38 Years
* SC/ST/CAT1 age between 21 - 40 Years

How to Apply :

* With all the documents visit http://kpsc.kar.nic.in and click on the Online Application Link provided.

* Paste a recent passport size photograph on a white paper and sign under the photo. This photo with signature has to be scanned and uploaded during online application

* Fill all the details and upload the photo scanned.

* Take printout of the application form and fee payment challan
