The examination pattern of KAS is
-KAS Prelims
-KAS Main examination
-KAS interview

For IAS, one should appear for civil services examination.

It is going to be conducted by UPSC.

Examination Pattern :
-CSAT- Civil Services Aptitude Test
-Civil Services Main examination
-Interview.

LAst date to submit form for this year is over now , you try next year only.
You must be a graduate to appear for this exam in any field.
Age - 21-30 yrs.

Hey friend,
As you have asked for the procedure for IAS and KAS exam, i have mentioned the basic procedures what they follow.

The Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

The examination has three stages

1. Civil Services Preliminary Examinations (CSP) - normally conducted during
the second half of May.

2. Civil Services (Main) Examinations conducted during the month of
October/November. Here, those who are selected in the preliminary
examination only are eligible to appear.

3. Those who are selected in the main examination will be eligible to appear
before the Interview Board at New Delhi.

KPSC-Karnataka Public Service Commission.

It is been conducted every year.The selection procedure for this exam is listed below.

1. Preliminary exam.
2. Main exam.
3. Interview.

- a candidate should be graduate from any recognized university
-a candidate as an appearing can also apply for the exam

age limit

-a candidate's age should be between 21-30 for general
-for OBC upper age limit is 33 years
-for SC/ST candidate upper age limit is 35 years

number of attempts

-for general-4 attempts
-for OBC- 7 attempts
-for SC/ST- no limits

Eligibility Criteria For IAS
(i) Age limits :

21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).


(ii) Educational Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).


(iii) No. of permissible attempts :

Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs (Para 3 (iv) of Notice)

(iv) Fee :

Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only)
(No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled only)
