Re: Difference between GATE and GRE? Which has a greater scope?
GATE is an entrance exam for doing M tech in India, where as if you have abroad plans you have to write GRE to do MS abroad. Both are good, it depends on your choice whether to study here or abroad, if you need an international exposure go for GRE

Re: Difference between GATE and GRE? Which has a greater scope?
It totally depends on you in which you have interest-------as there are many options--some are
1.)M.tech--if you want to go in your technical field this is best.. qualified exam-GATE 2.)M.S--from outside country or in india. qualified exam--GRE,and other exam corresponds to that country and their college requirement. scope wise i think both is having a good scope in its field but i think M.S is best... but last decision should be yours...... |

GATE: this is a common entrance exam conducted thru out india for the admission in to the post grad programmes into the colleges such as IITs and the state level colleges. this is helpful if u choose to study in INDIA. GRE: this is conducted in the US and the countries which teach PG course in the english language. u can take this up if u want to study abroad. comparing both is difficult and purely based on choice. regards.. |

Re: Difference between GATE and GRE? Which has a greater scope?
hi,
I am telling you the difference: GATE This exam is for doing M tech programmes in IITs and Nits or reputed colleges in India. They will give you a stipend of 5000-9000 per month. GRE This is for doing MS programme outside India, mainly US and UK. Getting scholarship and doing in good colleges like MIT has very good future. So,the choice is you can better do MS, otherwise you can do in IIT. It is also widely accepted and renowned institution in the world. Thank you... |

Re: Difference between GATE and GRE? Which has a greater scope?
Hi, GRE’ stands for Graduate Record Examination. It is a test administered by ETS (Educational Testing Services), the same company that administers the SATs. The exam is used to assess students’ aptitude for graduate programs in the sciences, social sciences and humanities, and is required for admission to many graduate programs. In the U.S., the test is generally administered using Computer-Adaptive Testing (CAT), as opposed to a paper-and-pencil test. There are many features of CAT that are different from paper-and-pencil testing, but the test is calibrated so that test-takers should receive approximately the same score using CAT as they would taking the paper-and-pencil test. The GRE is composed of three sections: Analytical Writing (AW), Verbal, and Quantitative (math).for further details check: http://www.onestopgre.com The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India Examination conducted by the Seven IITs and IISC, Bangalore, on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. The objectives of GATE is to identify meritorious and motivated candidates for admission to Postgraduate Programs Engineering at the National level. Every year one IIT or IISc is selected as the Organizing Institute. For further details check: http://www.onestopgate.com/. The major difference between the two is that GRE is qualifying for M.S abroad and GATE is the qualifying exam for masters in INDIA. Hope this helps. Good luck.
