The Master of Science [M.Sc] in Physics is a post graduate degree program of two years, where as an integrated M.Sc-Phd in Physics is a dual degree program of 5-6 years. However the eligibility criteria for both the program is same. Candidate must hold a Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline.

Candidate who are just seeking to pursue Masters Degree program in Physics, look for the M.Sc physics program and candidate who want to further their education in the research field may look for the integrated M.Sc-Phd program in the same.

The structure of the integrated program is such that after successful completion of two years in the program, the candidates are awarded a Masters' Degree, however, one would continue to work for their Phd, advancing the topic of their M.Sc program in the relevant subject.

M.Sc is a 3 year course. Integrated M.Sc on the other hand is a 5 year program. M.Sc in Physics is suitable for those candidates who are interested for master degree only. Those who are interested for master degree and research can go with integrated M.Sc. There is no need to attend separate selection process for M.Sc and Ph.D in case of integrated M.Sc.
