i'm a final yr b.tech IT student am i eligible for writing the IES exam?

Yes you are eligible to write the exam but you should obtain the degree at the time of joining if you have passed the exam....

IES exams are conducted by UPSC for selecting approximately 250 -300 engineers from all over India for the post of Indian railways service of engineers (IRSE), Central engineering service (CES),Military engineering service (MES), etc.
This exam is conducted for following disciplinary
civil
mechanical
electrical and electronics.

So, i guess you are not eligible for this exam because you belong to IT department.

Yes a candidate in final year or passed our B.Tech is eligible for appearing for IES exam..

But Indian Engineering Services (IES) exam conducted for the branches of Civil. Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering. so if you want to write IES you need to select either of these branches!!

• If you decide to write IES exam then IES Exam-2011 Dates are:--
• IES Exam-2011 Notification: 8th January, 2011 (Saturday)
• IES Exam-2011 last date of form receipt: 7th February, 2011 (Monday).
• IES Exam-2011 Written Exam date: 4th June, 2011 (Saturday)

Graduate passed all candidates are eligible for IES and IAS exem...

any graduate student are eligible for IES examination.

you are in final year of your graduation. so i think for this year you may not be eligible for IES. but after completion of your graduation in next your surely you are eligible


from notification you may get the information about this year you are eligible or not. there may be a date when you have to submit your all documents of graduation. if there is no information about this then contact with them directly they will tell you, you will be eligible for this year or not.

Of course, you are eligible for writing the IES exam.

IES exam eligibility is as follows:

As per the IES exam notification, Candidate must have obtained a degree in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University.

A candidate who intends to appear at such a qualifying examination may also apply. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible, but their admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation.

yes, you will be eligible for writing IES exam after Doing B.Tech in IT.as minimum qualification graduation is require to attain in the IAS exam.

the criteria which is required to attain in the IAS exam is given below


1.Engineering form recognized university or AICT approved with minimum 60% marks in engg is require to attain in the IES exam.

age limit for IES exam is 21-29 years.

Yes after Completing Your Graduation you are eligible for IES.

For Indian Economic Service - A Post-graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics.

For Indian Statistical Service - A Post-graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics.

And you aget is not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years to become an IES.

You are not eligible for this year IAS exam but next year that is after completion of graduation you are surely eligible for the IAS exam.
The basic criteria for applying into the IAS exam will be graduation from any reputed institutions.
So first you have to complete your engineering then apply for this exam.

but the exam is only for the core subject so you have to choose from any one of them

yes.your eligible for the ies exam.You must be a graduate in Engineering from a

recognized university.Even Final year students can also appear in IES exam,

provided he/she can provide the proof of passing the exam when IES exam

A degree in engineering or a final year student
Age Limit 21 to 30 years.

You are eligible to write the exam IES.The eligibility is an engineering degree with 55% marks from recognised university.The recruitment of IES is through UPSC.
UPsc releases notification for recruitment of Indian engineering services every year.

In the final year of your B.Tech you can only apply for IES examination.

But you can not appear for IES examination.

But you should have these criteria :

Not only for you. This doubt is there in the minds of so many people.

Many of the candidates think that the candidates of IT or CSE are not eligible to apply for IES Exam.

But this is completely wrong. The candidates who have completed Graduation in Engineering with any of the stream are eligible to apply for IES Exam.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.

This Exam is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.

By cracking this Exam, the candidates will be placed in any of the following Engineering services of India.
-Civil Engineering
-Mechanical Engineering
-Electrical Engineering
-Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

The candidates should possess the following age criteria.

General category : 21-30 years
OBC category : 21-33 years
SC or ST category : 21-35 years

I suggest you to have good preparation for this exam from a coaching institute and apply for it.
