Eligibility to appear in the GATE for a correspondence MSc(Mathematics) student?


Hi everyone, I am studying MSc in Mathematics from correspondence. I want to appear for the GATE so I would like to know about my eligibility as I am a correspondence student. Kindly tell me about the eligibility asap.

As per the newly changes introduced in GATE 2021, candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2+2 or 10+3+1 are eligible to apply.
Also those who are currently appearing in the 3rd year of their UG degree/ higher years of study or graduated in any Government approved degree course in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Arts/ Commerce are eligible to apply for GATE 2021.
Yes,those who had done graduation via correspondence can also appear for the exam

Yes, distance learning Master graduates in any of the following subjects like Science/Mathematics/Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent are eligible for appearing in GATE exam.

The only condition here is that the year of qualification must not be later than 2021.

Important dates wrt to GATE 2021
  • Registration starts: 11 Sep, 2020
  • Last date to apply: 30 Sep, 2020
  • Extended last date to apply: 7 Oct, 2020
  • Last date to change category,paper,exam center city: 13 Nov 2020
  • Admit Card release: 8 Jan, 2021
  • Exam Date: 5-7 Feb 2021, 12-14 Feb 2021
