JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. JEE is conducted by CBSE for admission in Bachelor of technology course in NITs, IITs and other central government engineering colleges. JEE has two stages JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
The minimum percentage of marks required in 12th for admission in IITs through JEE Main and Advanced exam is 75% for general candidates and 65% for SC/ST candidates. You are not eligible for admission in IITs with 74% marks if you belong to general category. |

Hello dear, for taking admission at IIT along with your board percentage your JEE score is also important. Their cutoffs are based on mainly score of JEE rather your board percentage and again it is dependent on your category. There are different cutoff or intake for different categories.

In addition with the required percentage, you will also have to qualify JEE Main Exam.
Without qualifying JEE Main Exam, you cannot appear for JEE Advanced Exam and get admission to IIT. Syllabus of JEE Main Exam contains multiple choice questions of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of 11th and 12th standard. After qualifying JEE Main Exam, cutoff will be prepared. If your marks are above cutoff, then you can apply for JEE Advanced Exam. After qualifying JEE Advanced Exam, you can get admission to IIT. |
