Eligibility to join Merchant Navy for a candidate with 55% in 12th Commerce?
Hello Sir, I want to join Merchant Navy, but I have completed my 12th with Commerce stream. I have scored 55% marks only in my 12th Commerce. Please let me know am I eligible or not to join?

Merchant Navy is basically divided into 2 departments
1. Engine department 2. Deck department Both the departments have Officers and Ratings. For Officers entry, You need to have 60% marks in PCM, which in your case you don’t have, since you belong to Commerce. Hence, you can join Merchant Navy only as a Rating. For Ratings entry, You need to have 40% marks in 10th with Physics and Maths as your subjects. Also 40% marks in English. |
