all the colleges which comes in central or state councelling gives admission on the basis of aieee rank. Also there are management seats in every good college which you can have if you achieved a good rank in aieee exam. Some good colleges are thapar, DCE, BITS PILANI.

It is very difficult to get a decent branch in an ordinary NIT/IIIT with rank 74654

There is no possibility with such a low rank in general catagory in any NIT.

dear friend, BITS Pilani doesn't have aieee based admission. I think, author means BIT.
Note that BITS and BIT are different institutes.
