MBA stands for the Master of Business Administration. There are both government colleges and private colleges that offer MBA course. It is a 2 years long post graduation degree.
As far as entrance exams are concerned, there are plenty of entrance exams for the MBA admission. For example TANCET CAT MAT GMAT XAT SNAP IBSAT JMET IIFT I am sure by now you are confused about which entrance exam to appear. Let me help you out. The most popular of all MBA entrance exams is Common Admission Test (CAT), mentioned second on the list above. The Common Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. These institutes are considered best for MBA in the country. Most top companies hire candidates from Indian Institutes of Management. Therefore it is quite obvious that most candidates prefer to appear for Common Admission Test. You should also give the CAT entrance exam because apart from IIMs, there are other good colleges as well that offer admission through Common Admission Test. CAT Eligibility 1. Any bachelor's degree will be accepted. 2. At least 50 percent marks in graduation. 3. There is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST. You should consider appearing for other exams only in case if you want admission in some specific college or if you are not eligible for the Common Admission Test. If you can not appear for CAT due to percentage issue then you should appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT). The MAT entrance exam has no percentage criteria. GMAT entrance exam is admission for various univerisities not just in India but across the world. If you want to pursue MBA from overseas, then you can appear for the GMAT exam. |
