Sir, my son has completed his 12th standard and is interested in applying for the Armed Forces. Which are the entrances he should take and are the applications opening including Technical?

To join armed forces as an officer, you can appear and qualify in NDA examination.

It is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing in 12th from a recognised board. The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years.

Only male candidates are eligible to appear in the examination. It is conducted in two stages - Written and SSB.

So, after qualifying in both stages you will become eligible for final selection. For more information about the examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

Candidates can also apply for TES ( Technical Entry Scheme ) on the basis of JEE Main score.

To join the Indian Army after 12th, age should be between 16 and half to 19 years so that they are joined in NDA. Students must clear the NDA examination held by UPSC.
Or even after graduation in particular field he can join the armed forces.

1. National Defence Academy .
2. Technical Entry Scheme for Army .
3. Cadet Entry Scheme for Navy .

NDA exam is known as the best way to join the Indian defence forces as an officer.

NDA/NA (National Defence Academy/ Naval Academy) NDA/NA exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year. All candidates who are interested in joining Indian Army, Navy or Air Force, can appear for NDA examination.

NDA selection process comprises two stages – written exam and Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. First, all candidates who fills NDA registration form need to appear in the written exam. Candidates qualifying the written exam need to appear for SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test.

Entrance examination is conducted for recruitment in Indian Armed Force.

The examination is conducted for recruitment as soldier as well as officer through various entry.

Entrance examination is conducted in various stages and age limit varies with examination.

After 12th, if someone is willing to join Armed Forces, then he can join/apply for following entrance exams.
NDA (National Defence Academy)

• Conducted by UPSC every year twice.
• Air Force, Navy wing for candidates having Physics and Mathematics in 10+2.
• While Army wing for all stream candidates.
• Age limit: 16 to 19 years.
• Written Test followed by SSB Interview, Medical exam

TES 10+2

• Conducted for entry to Army wing
• At least 75% in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2
• Age limit: 16 to 19 years
• SSB Interview, Medical exam
