Entrance in Indian Army as Legal (Male) Professional at Graduation level.


Kindly guide for entrance procedure for Young Male (Graduate Level) Delhi resident in Indian Army to serve as Officer / Lawyer / Legal Branch. And, also share the recent updated syllabus with previous 5 years solved papers.

If you have completed graduation course, then you can apply for CDS exam that is conducted by UPSC every year twice.

After qualifying this exam, you will be assigned Lieutenant rank in Indian Army. Your rank will be promoted as per your skills and duration to Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel(Selection), Colonel(Time Scale), Brigadier and so on.

To apply for CDS exam, you will have to visit UPSC Online site i.e. https://upsconline.nic.in/

For qualifying CDS exam, there will be two stages:
  • Written Exam
  • SSB Interview
In Written exam, you will have to face following papers i.e.
English Language
  • Antonyms
  • Sentence improvement
  • Comprehension
  • Synonyms
  • Word substitution
  • Ordering of sentences
  • Spotting Errors
  • Selecting Words
  • Ordering of words in a sentence

General Knowledge
  • Economics

  • Chemistry
  • Sociology
  • History
  • Defence related
  • Award
  • Geography
  • Environment
  • Sport

  • Statement true/false

Elementary Mathematics
  • Basic Operations
  • Simple Factors
  • Remainder Theorem
  • HCF & LCM
  • Theory of Polynomials
  • Solutions of quadratic equations
  • Relation between its roots and Co-efficients (Only real roots will be considered)
  • Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns—analytical and graphical solutions
  • Simultaneous linear inequations in two variables and their solutions
  • Practical problems leading to two simultaneous linear equations or inequations in two variables or quadratic equations in one
  • Variable & their solutions
  • Set Language and set notation
  • Rational Expressions and Conditional Identities
  • Law of Indices
