what is essential qualification for lecturer in degree collages.
Please tell me full details

the various qualifications and eligibility for becoming lecturer of a college as mentioned by UGC is given in the file attached
please refer to it for various details-

Most of the colleges demand NET or SET eligible candidates for the Lecturer post. These exams are conducted by UGC or CSIR. To appear for these eligibility tests, you have to complete your Masters degree with at least 55% marks. If you are an undergraduate, then pursue post graduation course in the same subject. NET or SET is required only in government colleges and it is not mandatory for private colleges.

To become a lecturer You must have the following qualification as under-

1. A post graduate degree with at least 1st division in the required subject.

2. He must be a NET or SET qualified.

3. At least 2 years teaching experience in some school Or private institute.

Ever year the UGC conducted the NET exam in June & December.The eligibility criteria for the same is 55% in His Post graduation degree.

Essential qualification for Lecturer in Degree colleges is that you should have Master Degree.

Master degree is must to apply for Lecturer in degree college.

If you are intrested in Teaching field then you should do Master degree course which is very important in other fields.


Todays Masterdegree course is very much demanded if you want good job then master degree course helps you very much.

To become a lecturer in degree college, you will have to give ugc net exam.

Net exam conducted by ugc twice in every year for lecturership and Junior research fellowsip(jrf) in month of june and december.

Notification for net exam will come in march for june month exam and another
will come in september for december month exam.

For this exam you must complete your post graduation with 55% marks.

There is no upper age limit for lecturership. you can appear any no of time.but for JRF candidate should be maximum 28 years(relaxation for sc/st/obc).

these are the essential qualification for Lecturer in Degree colleges:

Age:- There is no maximum age limit for the post of lecturer.

Educational Qualifications:- A person must have cleared the examination of NET i.e. National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The prerequisite to appear for this test is a degree in post-graduation in the respective subject with a minimum of 55% for general and 50% for SC/ST. This test is conducted by the UGC twice a year usually in the months of June and December and is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.

So ,Only the full time M.Tech alone will be considered for the lectureship as under educational qualification given by the AICTE.
