Criteria To be a Engineer

1.>You should qualify the 10+2 standard examination With minimum 50% marks.For SC/ST/PD relaxation is available as per Government Rule.

2.>Your age must be minimum 18 years.

3.>Then you have to qualify the Engineering entrance examination

There are atleast 10-15 entrance exams you can give after your 12th as you have PCM at 12th. The list is given below with the details of the exams :-

Really, the life of the aspiring candidate is awful. He has to keep a track of the various entrance exams, admit cards, dates, travel arrangements, results and finally counselling. At the stage of admission, he faces more confusion to choose between the available options. invariably, he ends up paying the admission fee in more than one institute. The other problem is clash of exam dates. This cuts away some options.

I faced this situation in 1967 (Yes, 1967!) when I had interview in madurai for Tamilnadu colleges (Total of eight at that time!) on one day and at IIT Chennai the very next day. But, these cannot be just wished away.

Yes, the entrance exams do not stop just with IIT and AIEEE. Virtually every state is having its entrance exam. Apart from this a few institutes like VIT, BITS and SRM also have their exclusive exams. You have to keep a track of these things through the Internet. Virtually, all the entrance exams would have been notified by Jan end and exams would take place in April/May.

Choose the relevant ones for you and proceed.

Yes, of course there are many other Entrance Exams other than IIT-JEE and AIEEE.
As we know,
IIT-JEE is conducted by IITs all over India, so that aspirants may get admission to IITs only. In this rank is made on all India merit basis. Also, students get admission on the all India merit basis.
But in AIEEE, procedure is little bit different. By AIEEE, students get admission in NITs, IIITs and other deemed universities. In these institutions, especially NITs 50% of the seats are filled through All India Merit Basis and 50% seats are filled by the candidates of that state only in which the NIT is situated.
This is the basic difference these two Entrance Examinations.
