Re: Is GATE and IES compulsory for PSU? What is the syllabus?
No, GATE score is not compulsory for attending the PSU exams. Since you have completed the B.Tech you are in all ways eligible to attending the PSU exams. Certain government companies such as NTPC may recruit the candidates based on the GATE score. In case of the IES exam, also you can attend the exam if you are having an engineering degree. You should look in for the notifications by the government companies and apply accordingly.

Re: Is GATE and IES compulsory for PSU? What is the syllabus?
Dear pal,
IES is conducted by the UPSC for appointing graduates to various posts in the government vacancy. There are many public sector units like NTPC, SAIL,ONGC,BHEL etc. The academic background required for applying in the exam are 1. Bachelor engineering degree from any discipline and certain mentione discipline based on the post , 2. The age limit for appearing in the exam differ from sector to sectors 3. As per the new regulation only gate qualified aspirant can apply for the jobs in the public sectors. GATE is compulsory but there is no need to appear in IES. All the best |

Re: Is GATE and IES compulsory for PSU? What is the syllabus?
I would like to know whether
1) all PSU companies have started recruiting engineers through GATE? 2) the further selection process (i.e. after qualifying GATE) is same for all PSU companies or differ? |
