Eligibility Criteria for PCS Examination:-

1.>Educational Qualification required for PCS Exam:

# The applicant should have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.

# The student should have taken Punjabi as one of compulsory or elective subjects in his/her Matriculation examination.


2.>Physical Standards Required for Punjab Police Service

For Punjab Police Service, the applicant have to undergo physical test and have to be fit according to the rules and regulations. They have to fulfill the necessary physical standards as below.

# Minimum height of Men: 5'.7"
# Minimum height of Women: 5'.3"
# Chest Measurement for Men (Unexpanded): 33"
# Chest Measurement for Men (Expanded): 341/2"


3.>Age Limit for PCS Exam

# The applicant should not be below 21 years and not above 35 years.

# For Punjab Police Service the candidate should not be below 21 and should not be above 28 years.

# For SC/ST a relaxation of 5 years are given for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) the candidate.

# For Physically Challenged applicants upper age limit is relaxable up to 45 years.

# For widows and Divorcees upper age limit is relaxable up to 40 years


4.>Number of attempts for PCS Exam

The maximum number of attempt allowed for candidates to appear for exam will be four attempts and only three attempts are allowed for ex-servicemen category.


5.>Nationality:

For PCS Exams the candidates must be citizens of India or either be subject of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, candidates of Indian origin who are migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam who came over to India to settle permanently and to whom eligibility certificates has been issued by Punjab Government can appear for the exam.

UP PCS exam is conducted to select candidates for the Public Service Commission.

Now the Eligibility criteria is :

1. Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 35 years as applicable in the year of applying.

2. A relaxation of 5 years if given in the upper age limit to the SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates.

3. The candidates must possess a Bachelors' Degree or its equivalent from any recognized University

So if you are between 21-35 years you can apply for this exam.

The AGE limit for the UP PCS for General Categories are: 21-33 years.

For SC/ST 5 yr. relaxation

for OBC 3yr. relaxation.

The age limit for the all UP Govt's Jobs is 35 year.
For UPPSC it is also 35 year.

Minimum age limit for UPPSC is 21 year and Maximum age limit is 35 year.

BUT

By a new notification of UP GOVT, maximum age limit is increased to 40 year from 06 June 2012.

Uttar Pradesh (UP) state government on 6 June 2012 increased the maximum age limit for candidates appearing in the examinations conducted by UP PSC (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission).
The age limit for general candidates which was 35 years of age has been increased to 40 years.
The candidates must possess a Bachelors' Degree or its equivalent from any recognized University.

Age Limits :19.5 to 25 years as the examination time.

Physical Standards:-

Height: Minimum 157 cm

Eye standard: Without glasses better eye 6/6 and worse 6/9
Exam Procedure :
The eligible candidates are called for the written examination of objective-type of 75 minutes which includes:

i)General Science
ii)Mathematics
iii)General Knowledge
iv)General English

Nationality : Indian.

Marital Status : Unmarried.

Educational Qualifications :

i)You should pass the 12th or equivalent with Science and Mathematics with 65% or above marks in aggregate and optional as Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science.

ii)You should pass B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 60% marks.
or
iii)You should pass BE or B.Tech with minimum 65% marks in aggregate in any discipline from any institution recognized by AICTE.
or
iv)You should have M. Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 55% marks.
