Its depends upon the designation of the post suppose designation of the post for chief engineer, lecturer, Training officers, senior lecturers etc in upsc exam having different age limits that shows below here for SC, ST and OBC candidates.
For general candidates age limit is 21-35 years Not exceeding 55 years for SC candidates and 53 years for OBC candidates for the posts at S.No.17 Not exceeding 50 years for the posts at S. Nos.12,14,15,16,18,19 & 20 Not exceeding 48 years for the posts at S. Nos.8 & 9 Not exceeding 45 years for the posts at S. No.7 Not exceeding 40 years for the posts at S. Nos.1,2,6 & 13 Not exceeding 50 years for SC & ST candidates and 48 years for OBC candidates for the posts at S.No.10 Not exceeding 35 years for the posts at S. friend age limit for the UPSC exam is in between 21-30 but for SC and ST student there is some 5 years more than average all the best |

![]() Eligibility Criteria for PCS Examination:- 1.>Educational Qualification required for PCS Exam: # The applicant should have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. # The student should have taken Punjabi as one of compulsory or elective subjects in his/her Matriculation examination. 2.>Physical Standards Required for Punjab Police Service For Punjab Police Service, the applicant have to undergo physical test and have to be fit according to the rules and regulations. They have to fulfill the necessary physical standards as below. # Minimum height of Men: 5'.7" # Minimum height of Women: 5'.3" # Chest Measurement for Men (Unexpanded): 33" # Chest Measurement for Men (Expanded): 341/2" 3.>Age Limit for PCS Exam # The applicant should not be below 21 years and not above 35 years. # For Punjab Police Service the candidate should not be below 21 and should not be above 28 years. # For SC/ST a relaxation of 5 years are given for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) the candidate. # For Physically Challenged applicants upper age limit is relaxable up to 45 years. # For widows and Divorcees upper age limit is relaxable up to 40 years 4.>Number of attempts for PCS Exam The maximum number of attempt allowed for candidates to appear for exam will be four attempts and only three attempts are allowed for ex-servicemen category. 5.>Nationality: For PCS Exams the candidates must be citizens of India or either be subject of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, candidates of Indian origin who are migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam who came over to India to settle permanently and to whom eligibility certificates has been issued by Punjab Government can appear for the exam. best of luck. |

following are the relaxation age limit: Code No. Category Extent of Age Relaxation Permissible 01. SC and ST 5 years 02 OBC 3 years 03 Blind,deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons. 10 years 04 Blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons + SC/ST 15 years 05 Blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons + OBC 13 years 06 Defence Services Personnel disabled in 3 years operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof. 07 Defence Services Personnel (as against Code No. 06) + SC/ST 8 years 08 Defence Services Personnel (as against Code No. 06) + OBC 6 years 09 Ex-Servicemen including Commissioned offices 5 years and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st January, 2011 and have been released (i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st January, 2011) otherwise than by way of dismi-ssal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency;or (ii) on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service; or (iii) on invalidment. 10 Ex-Servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs (as against Code No. 09) + SC/ST 10 years 11 Ex-Servicemen including + OBC Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs (as against Code No. 09) 8 years 12 ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service as on 1st January,2011 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three months notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. 5 years 13 ECOs/SSCOs (as againstCode No. 12) + SC/ST 10 years 14 ECOs/SSCOs (as againstCode No. 12) + OBC 8 years 15 Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989 5 years 16 Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J & K (as against Code No. 15) + SC/ST 10 years 17 Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J & K (as against Code No. 15) + OBC 8 years ALL THE BEST |

1. AGE LIMIT
a) A candidate should have attained the minimum age of twenty one years and should not have attained the age of thirty five years on the first day of January of the year, in which the last day falls for submission of application to the Commission; (i) Provided that in the case of Punjab Police Service, a candidate should have attained the minimum age of twenty-one years and should not have attained the age of twenty-eight years on the first day of the year, referred to above. (ii) Provided that in the case of Deputy Superintendent of Police, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab are relaxed in age upto 5 years as per Punjab Government Instructions. b) The upper age limit for a Punjab Government employee, including that of a court, who has not less than four years continuous service under the Government, will be relaxable up to 45 years. c) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable up to a maximum of five years for Schedules Castes and Scheduled Tribes of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab. d) The upper age limit for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of women of Punjab will be relaxable up to 40 years. e) Age relaxation in upper age limit, upto 10 years to the disabled persons of Punjab. f) An ex-serviceman of Punjab domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in Armed Forces of the Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit. |
