The Global Open University is an Indian university established in 2006 in Dimapur, Nagaland. It has been established under the provisions of The Global Open University Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006) of the Government of Nagaland with a view to introducing vocational, job oriented and employment centric education in the North-East in general and in the State of Nagaland in particular.

In 2008, the Global Open University was recognised by the Distance Education Council in 2008 and was accorded provisional recognition for offering distance programmes the same year. However the recognition has expired and presently the university is not recognised by the Distance Education Council.

The Global Open University offers academic degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the following areas:[4]
Management and Commerce
Health and Medical Sciences
Ecology and Environment
Law and Juridical Science
Psychology and Counseling
Education
Journalism and Mass Communication
Computers and Information Technology
Library and Information Science
Applied Science
Social Science
Tourism, Travel & Hospitality Management

TGOUN is recognised by UGC and DEC as per the court decision in 2015,but what about to those STUDENTS pursuing professional technical subjects which really needs recognition by the AICTE as well as from ITPI.
Is it recognised by AICTE?
