Re: Is it a good choice for me of doing LLB course along with CS course?
Although it is not recommended but yes doing LLB along with CS is considered as the killer combination. The reason it is not recommended to do LLB is because Company Secretary (CS) course alone is enough to get a good job. There is no requirement to do LLB.
But saying that if you can manage both CS and LLB course together, it is only going to bring good for you. A lot of companies require candidates who have completed both CA and CS courses for various posts like the CFO. The other requirement for such posts is CS with LLB. The most compliance and corporate affairs positions require CS+LLB combination. The role of Company Secretary is to ensure that the company is complying with the rules and regulations set by the government. He also ensures smooth implementation of the policy decided by the board of directors. Company Secretary also provide advise to the board of directors and Chairman on the issues like corporate, legal, secretarial, administrative, tax etc. He also works as the mediator between regulation enforcement agency and the company at the same time government and the company. Considering the role of Company Secretary, it is a good idea to do LLB course as it will help you in the work. Besides apart from the responsibility of Company Secretary you can also take the responsibility of the legal advisor of the company. Therefore my advise to you would be that if it is possible for you do to LLB along with CS, it would be great because it is always adviced to do LLB after completing the CS course. LLB Eligibility 1. You need to have graduation degree in any stream from a recognised board. 2. You should have scored at least 45 percent marks in graduation course. 3. Candidates from SC/ST community require 40 percent marks in graduation course.
