hi..the preparation of ias exam requires lots of dedication and hard work,you have to work around 8 hours daily on the ias for around one whole year even then there are chances that you may not even qualify for the mains exam,so you can understand that its an very tough competition and no one can tell how much time it will take to prepare for it,but the number of attempts is limited to only four for an general category student ,the names of some of the good coaching classes are :
1.vajiram and ravi
2.jains academy
3.raus ias coaching center
the fees is very high for the coaching ,generally for the general studies and csat combined it may come around 40,000 per year and for any other individual subject it is around 30,000 per subject

How many days you have to coaching depends on your motivation & hard work, there are many who do it in their first time whereas others took it around 3-4 attempts to clear.
So, you should take coaching for atleast one year.
