Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
dear,
if you go by the words of your friend then there will be no course good for you in India...... remember knowledge never goes waste whether it is taken from an govt. institute or private....... about hotel management from govt. institute.....dear,some of the good govt. institutes have tie-ups with hotels for training and placement...... you can find a good college in your locality....refer the prospectus and the placement history..... there are many private institutes as well for hotel managemant and they are good as their fees are high......and many can anot afford that .....but the advantage is that the facility and faculty will be top class...... now you deside whether you want to go abroad or will do a course here only...... best of luck |

Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
Hi friend..........
I think you dont go with your friends or others. You do what you want and what you think. This is not true that govt. institutes are not good for hotel management. There are lots of govt. institutes which gives 100% placement and better training. If you want to go abroad then you should join IIHM. All the best and thank you! |

Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
There are some government colleges too, which are doing well in the field.
But i personally think that private institues of hotel management always have an edge over govt's colleges because of the financial factor. Private college charges high fees, but they provide you the study option to match the international level. Most of private institutes are subidiaries of some hotel chains, so the placement level is extremely high in them. So i will advice you to choose carefully and work hard. Best of luck |

Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
I want to add one more thing, if you go for private institues, you get a better chance to work part time [internship programme] in their hotels for experience, and they really pay high salaries even for part time jobs.
Like for example, the UEI institue in delhi and jalandhar, pays you a minimum of 8,000-10,000 per month during your course, which is really amazing. [As said by UEI staff of jalandhar during counselling] So you can met your study expenses easily. |

Dear friend,
Don't stay in a dilemma listening friends suggestions. Hotel management course from Govt institute gives a good chance for getting employeement in renowned hotels. Different Govt institutes have also bonds with foreign hotel industries which recruit indian students. So don't think for the second time, just go for it Good luck! |

Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
Doing Hotel Management from any where in India is useless. You spend about 3 to 4 lakhs and end up in getting a job of 10000 rupees. Besides that the syllabus of Hotel Management curriculum is far inferior to syllabus of hotel management curriculum abroad. Do any thing but do not do Hotel Management in India.

Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
hello,
well ashi you don't have to be confused choosing your college and its not like pursuing your degree course in government colleges are waste. In fact there are so many good government colleges. Its just that what ever and where ever you do,do it from your heart.Don't do it for the sake of doing.Even if you are opting your degree from abroad, you can't guarantee that your result will be 100%.I fell you can do your graduation from India and then if you like to go for further studies then you can go abroad. All you need is better grades to go abroad and have to sit for some entrance exams. If you can get through it than you can fly to where ever you like too go.so do well and my best wishes are always with you. all the best. |

Re: Is Hotel Management Course from Government Colleges Not Good?
In India there are only some government college for the hotel management. If you can get admission in that college then its good otherwise its not good to do hotel management from government college.
To get the more knowledge you should join the private institute for taking admission in hotel management. |
