Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Special Class Railway Apprentices’ Examination (SCRA), 2011 will be conducted on 31 JULY 2011 . The details and eligibility criteria is given below.

Age Limit : 17 – 21 years as on 1st August, 2010

Education: First or Second Division in 10 + 2 of a University /Board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit as per the guidelines given in the notice.

Application Form: Interested candidates must apply using the Common Application Form. The form can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- only.


Fees: Rs.50/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only for the candidates applying through Offline method. No fees for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates. Rs. 25 for Online method in any branch of SBI by cash or by using Net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/ Master Credit/Debit Card.

There are two ways through which one can apply for the Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination (SCRA).
On-Line
Off-Line

To apply online, visit www.upsconline.nic.in. The instruction to fill up the application form has been provided on the website.
The offline application form can be obtained from designated head post offices/post offices throughout the country.

The last date of submission of application form is 18th April 2011 for the examination which is supposed to be conducted on 31st July 2011.

Application Details Of SCRA Exam-

The application details of SCRA Examination are explained here: Candidates interested to apply for the SCRA Exam conducted by the UPSC, must apply in the Common application form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head post Offices/Post Offices specified in the Commissions Notice.

In case of any difficulty in Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post Master or UPSC's "Forms Supply Monitoring Cell" over Telephone No. 011-23389366 / FAX No. 011-23387310.

The UPSC has developed an application form common for all their examinations which will be processed on computerized machines. This application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the application is obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country as listed below of Notice against cash payment of Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated Post Offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination. Candidates must use the form supplied with the Information Brochure only and they should in no case use photocopy/reproduction/unauthorized printed copy of the Form. Since this form is electronically scanable, due care should be taken to fill up the application form correctly.

The candidates should also fill up in the relevant places of the Acknowledgement Card, their Application Form Number (8-digit) and the name of the examination. The applicants are required to affix the postage stamp of Rs.6/- on the Acknowledgement Card and send the same along with application form to UPSC. If an applicant fails to affix the postage stamp of requisite amount his acknowledgement card will not be despatched and Commission will not be responsible for non-receipt of acknowledgement card by the applicant. The duly filled in application form and the acknowledgement card should then be mailed in the special envelope supplied with the Information Brochure. You should also write the name of examination viz. "Special Class Railway Apprentices' Examination, (& Year in which examination is held )" on the envelope before despatching it to "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi-110069".

This exam held by UPSC once in a year, you can have notification in the Employment News, keep taking the paper , you will have the notification, you can have the form from head post office.

SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) examination is conducted by UPSC every year once.

Eligibility criteria for SCRA examination:
Education qualification:
Candidate should have complete 12th class with PCM stream from any recognized university.
Age limit:
Age should be between 17 to 21 years.

SCRA examination notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 15th Oct 2011 to 14th Nov 2011.
Exam will held on 29th Jan 2012.

The Candidates applying for the SCRA entrance admission should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Commission take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test

Age: The candidates aspiring for the SCRA examination must have attained 17 years of age and must not have completed 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination. Certain categories of persons as specified in the Notice are eligible for age relaxation
