any idea as to how to check the tentative rank for the calculated score? any pointers regarding this issue?

It depend on the no of student appearing on the exam and hoew much u scored and highest marks in ur stream ..........

there is no way out for it....
you have to wait till the result gets announced.......

Actually the rank depends on the top mark........so, we cannot expect the rank until the top mark is known

you can calculate your own gate score:

Formula For GATE Score is as given
1000/150[Ag+Sg{(m-a)/s}]

Where

m = marks obtained by the candidate.

a = average of marks of all candidates who appeared in the paper mentioned on this scorecard in GATE for that year

s = standard deviation of marks of all candidates who appeared in the paper mentioned on this scorecard in GATE for that year

= global average of marks of all candidates who appeared across all papers and years (2005-2008)

= global standard deviation of marks of all candidates who appeared across all papers and years (2005-2008)

If the marks obtained by me is less than the given qualifying marks, then does it mean that I am disqualified? Then how about the rank and gate score I have scored? Are they valid or not?
