In order to check the recognition status of your university/College, you should refer to its official website and browse for letter of approvals available on the website.
However, if you are unable to find any letter of approval, the next thing you should do is to refer to the official website of University Grant Commission to check out whether the University/College is recognized by it.

List of recognized Universities and Colleges is available in the "Universities and Colleges" section of www.ugc.ac.in

To check out whether the University/College is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) refer to www.aicte-india.org/misapprovedinstitutions.htm

Dear,
there are two ways to check whether your college is UGC/AICTE approved or not-

1-
> go to Official Website of your college
> Search "Letter of Approval" or "Recognized".

2-
>Go to

http://www.ugc.ac.in

http://www.aicte-india.org


and check for your college's name in the list of recognized universities.

Hello Everyone, Can some one advise whether Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya, Tamil Nadu India registered with UGS and AICTE or is it a fake university. Can some one please advise as I am intending to pursue a course with them.

I am sorry to say, but it is not. Studying from Whistling wood is not good as it is not UGC approved. I searched in UGC website.

Well friend to find the approval of university you should first refer to the website of the college and university and then find the link for the approval and if they are approved then they will have a certificate uploaded on the site.
Another option is that you can check from the website of ugc that is ugc.ac.in.They have the list of recognised universities.
For technical colleges you should check for aicte.

If aicte approval of my college is cancelled in between or before completing my btech degree. Than the degree I got is aicte approved or not as at the time of admission it is aicte approved.
