No IIT's will admit candidates who have not appeared for the GATE exam. You will need to wait for another year for the next GATE exam. But that will give you sufficient time to prepare for it. Also if possible take up a job during this period. Your work experience will be useful.

Hello Friend,

The purpose of the M.Tech course is to give a specialized training in the field of engineering.

To Apply For M.Tech you should complete Graduation from Technical Field.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech Course:

You should have complete B.Tech, MCA or MSc in the any of the areas of engineering.

Most of the institutes asks at least 60% marks in the qualifying exam to accept the application.

Age Requirements:

There is No Age restrictions for the Gate exam.

So you can apply for this course at a later stage too.

*You need to write the GATE entrance exam after completing your Graduation in technical field.

One More thing is you should not have any criminal cases against.

You can also pursue M.Tech in private colleges also ,but there is no good scope for this in future.

If you get good percentile in Gate entrance you can do M.tech In IIT's.

If you did M.Tech In IIT's You have a Great scope in future.Your salary will be high...

As you have completed B.Tech in Mechanical Field you can apply for Gate entrance exam.

At the time of applying for the course you need to submit the required proof supporting the eligibility criteria.

All The Best...
