Re: How to go for merchant navy after passing 12th commerce
Your height is not the issue to get job in Merchant Navy. The issue is that you are a commerce stream student. Unfortunately commerce stream students are not eligible for merchant navy jobs. Therefore I would ask you to consider some other option.
To get job in merchant navy, candidate should have at least completed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However since you are a commerce student, this is not the possibility for you. Only science stream students get job in merchant navy. Even courses that candidates should take after 12th for better officer level jobs are only available for the candidates who have completed 12th PCM. The course options are B.Sc in Nautical Science or B.Tech in Marine Engineering. A commerce stream student can not apply for either of the two courses. Eligibility 1. Candidate must have passed 12th standard with PCM. 2. The age limit is 20 years to apply. 3. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. 4. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. 5. You should pursue B.Sc Nautical Science or Marine Engineering. Direct Entry Candidates who have completed 12th standard with PCM can apply for deck cadet job. However they will have to go through 3 months long pre sea course. If a candidate have completed B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Technology, then too he/she is eligible for job in merchant navy. |

No There's no scope for you instead you do a course from iims but your starting salary may be only 200$ - 350$ so better have any other option.
