Sir....I am passed TY Bcom with first class{74.57%} but my 12th percentage 52%.Sir i want join merchant navy... so Sir HOW TO JOIN MERCHANT NAVY?

Merchant Navy should not be confused with the Navy that protests the country from sea invasion. The role of Merchant Navy is quite different. It is related to transportation of goods from one country to another.


Trade has become a essential part of economy. Countries are heavily relied on exports and imports of goods. It could be heavy machinery, crude oil etc. This is where Merchant Navy comes into picture since 90 percent of trade is done via sea.


A job in merchant navy gives to an opportunity to travel around the world. It is quite a adventerous job and people who love to travel find it to be dream job.


Unfortunately your dream is not gonne come true. It is for the simple reason that commerce students are not eligible for job in merchant navy. You should have minimum qualification of 12th with PCM to apply for any job in the Merchant Navy. Therefore it is impossible for you to get a job. You can check the criteria below for your satisfaction.



Eligibility

1. Must have passed 12th standard with PCM as the subjects.


2. After completing 12th you can get direct job in Merchant navy for posts like Deck Cadets.


3. But if you want officer level posts in navigational and engineering fields then you will have to either pursue Marine Engineering or Bachelors course in Nautical science.


4. After completing one of the courses above you will have to go through medical test.


5. Candidate should be unmarried at the time of applying.


6. If you have completed B.Tech in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology then you can apply for various jobs in Merchant Navy directly.
