Re: How to make a good career in Physics ?
Dear Friend
As your qualification is not mentioned so the best suitable option for you can't be suggested. For 10+2 (Science students) If you want to stay in India then You should apply for IIT-JEE, ISAT and IISc for your graduation in Physics(or 5 year Integrated M.Sc. program after 12th). If you want to do graduation studies in world's best univerrsities; You can apply for Scholastic Aptitude Test or SAT. You can also apply for American College Testing or ACT. The above two tests' scores are valid in most of the colleges in US and also many outside universities accept this course for college admission. For B.Sc. Students. After graduation you can take admission in IITs, IISc, IISER(Pune, Mohali, Kolkata) JNU, BHU etc. If you want to study in foreign countries you should apply for GRE. You can apply for normal GRE or subject GRE for Physics. If you want to make a bright career in Science field then you should surely study in one of the top universities of India/World so that you can get the most sophisticated laboratories, project works and other opportunities. Some major paths which you can traverse are lectureship(professor, in future), Physics Scientist and Space Scientist. After 12th you can bend your career towards space sciences if you do graduation in Astrophysics. Also depending upon your project works and knowledge you can turn for M.Sc. in Astrophysics after B.Sc. in Physics. Science is vast subject and so a very tough competition at every stage of life is assured. You should keep your academics rich in all senses and a good score in International Olympiad adds value to the richness of academics. It would be better if you post your query here again with full detail of your qualification so that we can show you such an option which best suits you. Thank You |

to make good career in physics only, do b.sc in physics after 12th(science stream).
then do m.sc in physics or astrophysics. if you want more then do a p.hd in physics. thats a pure career in career in physics.. |

Re: How to make a good career in Physics ?
I passed out 12th in 2008. I dropped a year for IIT JEE preparation. I did got through but due to certain inevitable circumstances I couldnot join. I got into depression and wasnot doing anything worthwhile. On someone's suggestion I appeared for NIFT entrance and got through and joined its Bachelor Of Fashion Technology course after looking through its career prospects in NIFT brochure. Right now I am in first year at NIFT but I am least interested in continuing it. But I am not able to quit it because I cant afford to lose another year and money. I want to pursue my career in astrophysics or something related to it. Engineering is what I always dreamt of. I am in complete mess. Please help.

Re: How to make a good career in Physics ?
If you want to make a good career in physics, then you should go for B.SC with
Physics,If you have Physics in 10+2, after it you can do M.sc with Physics, and after it you should Ph.d, now you will become a Professor and you can get a high salary package. |
