Re: How many specializations does M.Pharm course has and which one is the best?
hi dear,
I sending you some information according to your quastion chek it out best...luck G-PAT results have been released. PG CET entrance test results are going to be released soon. In this scenario, let us know which course to choose and which specialization to choose, after B. Pharmacy. There are increasing numbers of employment opportunities for B. Pharmacy graduates in India and foreign countries also. But, those who have completed post graduation in pharmacy are getting better opportunities when compared to B. Pharmacy graduates. There are varied specializations in post graduation course after B. Pharmacy. M. Pharmacy: This is two year course. In the first year of two semesters, theory and practical will be present. In the second year, project reports have to be submitted after conducting researches in college/Pharma industry/laboratory. There are ten kinds of specializations in M. Pharmacy. Among them, pharmaceutics, industrial pharmacy, pharmaceutical analysis are attractive branches or those which have more demand. Those who have studied quality assurance will have lucrative career opportunities in Pharma industry. Those who have studied pharmacy practice specialization will have employment opportunities in hospitals and as teaching staff in colleges. In Andhra Pradesh, M. Pharmacy seats are given in government and private colleges based on rank in Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (G-PAT). Seats in M. Pharmacy which are left after giving for GPAT qualifiers will be given to the candidates who have qualified in PG CET. There are 64 colleges in Andhra Pradesh offering M. Pharmacy. They offer nearly 1470 M. Pharmacy seats in them. There is a chance of increase of number of seats in M. Pharmacy this year. Pharma-D (Post Bachelorette): There is no chance for B. Pharmacy graduates who have completed graduation after 2003 to take up job in Community Pharmacy in America. To surpass this difficulty, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has introduced six years Pharma-D course in India in 2008. It can be taken after completing intermediate. For the convenience of B. Pharmacy graduates, three year Pharma-D (Post Bachelorette) course has been introduced. First batch of Pharma-D (PB) is going to pass out in the year 2011. In India, 53 colleges are offering Pharma-D course. Numbers of seats in them are 1590. Post Bachelorette Pharma-D course is offered by 27 colleges in India. Numbers of seats in them are 270. In Andhra Pradesh there are 19 Pharma-D colleges offering 570 seats and 6 Pharma-D (PB) offering 60 seats. M. S Course: National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), BITS Pilani, Alliance Institute of Hyderabad and other institutes are offering M.S course with different specializations. As like in M. Pharmacy course, Pharmaceutics, industrial pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical analysis specializations have good demand in M. S also. Specializations of regulatory affairs and patents also provide good career opportunities. Rank in GPAT is essential to get admitted into MS in NIPER. Along with it, one needs to get a rank in the entrance test conducted by the institute. In the same way, those who want to get admitted into BITS Pilani, Alliance Institutes needs to qualify in the entrance test conducted by those institutes. As like in M. Pharmacy, students need to conduct researches and prepare project report in M.S also, after which only M.S degree is awarded. MBA: Pharmacy graduates who have interested in marketing, international marketing, management fields can take up Master of Business Administration course. NIPER, Manipur Varsities are offering management courses in pharmacy. PhD: M. Pharmacy, Pharma-D course candidates are eligible to take up PhD course. Students need to conduct research on any topic of Pharma field and submit the results in the form of thesis. Special training in Pharmacy: Those who want to get a job in Pharma industry after B. Pharmacy can get special training offered by Hitech institute with the help of NATCO Pharma, Hyderabad. This institute offers teaching by senior experts of famous Pharma companies along with practical training in Pharma industry. It is notable that Hitech institute is the only institute offering training in skills related to pharmacy field. Those who have got training in this institute have more chances of getting good employment opportunities. |

Re: How many specializations does M.Pharm course has and which one is the best?
the number of specializations offered in m.pharm depends from college to college.Specializations are offered in the following subjects: pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, quality assurance, clinical pharmacy, biopharmaceutics.
you can choose any subject depending on your interest, although pharamaceutics has the highest demand in industry as it is directly related to formulation development. |
