It is a good decision to start preparation for IES exam while pursuing B.Tech 1st year itself. The level of preparation should be very well for IES exam as it is highly competitive. It is better to join some coaching institutes where in you can get specialized training for attending this exam. You should practice based on previous year question papers. While preparing for this exam, you should identify key areas where you lag in and concentrate more in those areas. You should attend mock tests and also try to manage your time efficiently while attending exams.
