Re: How to prepare for Bank PO General English and General Awareness section?
As the minimum eligibility for bank PO exam is graduation, I thought you are a graduate. So, as far as my knowledge is concerned, General English will not be that much difficult for you.
For to get more marks in general english, you should be good at reading the sentences fast and understanding them quickly. If you are not so, develop that by repeated reading. This will help you in answering the questions of comprehensions in less time and with accurate answers. Then put efforts to get grip in fundamental grammar like tenses, voice changing and articles (when and how to use them), usage several helping verbs and where to use them. Practice some questions regarding the above aspects and along with that try to build up vocabulary. To be strong in vocabulary you have to put into practice the words which you learnt in a regular fashion. You also practice the jumbling of sentences. In most of the bank PO exams, there are no negative marks for General English section,so undoubtedly you can attempt all the questions which will be an added advantage for you to gain more marks. For general awareness, you need to update your knowledge on daily basis. It will not be done in a single day to prepare for general awareness. You have to start your preparation well in advance. Read news papers, news magazines, general knowledge books and gather information from all sources. Form a group and start discussing various issues, as group discussions can make preparations interesting and active. |

Re: How to prepare for Bank PO General English and General Awareness section?
You can clear General English section by studying Verbal and Non verbal reasoning by R.S. Agarwal. It will generally be the basic comprehension that will you have studied in your higher secondary.
General Awareness can be cleared by reading newspapers and listening to news as it will generally test the awareness of the public and the world in general. Still not satisfied you can download the previous year question papers from the following site: http://www.jbigdeal.com/2010/03/bank-po-question-papers-solved.html http://way2freshers.com/tag/bank-po-sample-papers http://www.gjtutorial.com/downloads/Bank%20PO%20Sample%20Paper.pdf |
