Syllabus for GATE exam will be based on the topics covered under B.Tech mechanical engineering. Other than core topics in mechanical engineering, you can also expect questions on engineering mathematics. After understanding the syllabus clearly, you can start with exam preparation. Following a time table will be useful. Practicing previous years question papers and referring prescribed books of engineering degree will be useful.

Hello,
GATE is the most popular course now a days .Preparing for GATE can be easy just you have to take a Little caution while studying any topic as GATE paper focus on your depth knowledge of subjects and your basic and presence of mind. Third year is the best time to prepare for GATE. I would suggest you to follow standard books and Join a Coaching institute for maintaining rhythm of preparation. Do a Chapter wise Study Prepare notes and solve mock papers. Some Other Important books - Multiple choice questions - Timothy. J.
