sir/mam i m shivani upadhyay nd i m pursuing BCA and i have done 12th from up board with 62%(physics,chemistry,maths) sir i want to join CDS (combined defence service) but i have no idea how can i join CDS like age limit ,height, weight, and which persistence required in 12 and bca sir/mam please suggest me

As you have completed 12th from Science stream, you are first of all eligible for NDA(National Defence Academy) conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force within the age of 16.5 to 19 years but it is only meant for an unmarried Indian Male candidate.

But after Graduation as you are pursing BCA(Bachelor of Computer Application) after completion of which you are eligible for apply for CDS(Combined Defence Service) conducted by UPSC two times every year to join Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years with good Physical and Mental Fitness.

Male candidate is eligible for all the wing of CDS but Female candidate is only eligible to apply for Indian Officer's Training Academy of CDS within the age of 19 to 25 years.

CDS can be applied through on line by paying requisite fee for the exam.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

CDS exams are conducted for the 4 wings of the Defence services.

Only MALE candidates can apply for all the 4 wings
FEMALE candidates are allowed to apply for the OTA wing only

Eligibilty to apply is

Education:
Indian Airforce- Graduation Pass with Physics and Mathematics as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH

Indian Navy - BE/BTECH

Indian Military Academy (IMA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream

Officers Training Academy (OTA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream

AGE LIMITS-
IMA- Between 19- 24 years
OTA Between 19- 25 years
NAVY - Between 19- 22 years
AIR FORCE - Between 19- 23 years

You will be eligible to apply for CDS(Combined Defence Services) Exam conducted by UPSC.

Educational qualification required

• Your Bachelor degree should be from recognized university.
• You should have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

There are five wings which you can apply through this exam.These are

1. Indian Military Academy - For Men Only.
2. Indian Naval Academy - For Men Only.
3. Air-Force Academy - For Men Only.
   
4. Officers Training Academy - For Men Only.
5. Officers Training Academy - For Women Only.

NOTE Educational qualification required for Air-Force Academy is - Bachelor degree in Engineering stream(B.TECH/B.E/MCA).
Your Engineering stream should be from :-

• Mechanical.
• Electrical.
• Electronics and Communication.
• Information Technology.

Age Your minimum age should be 18 years and age should not be above 24 years.


Physical Fitness Requirements

• Minimum Height should be 162.5 cms.
• Leg Length :- Minimum - 99 cms and Maximum - 120 cms.
• Thigh Length - 64 cms.
• Vision - 6/6 without glasses and 6/12 with glasses.

For Indian Military Academy/Indian Naval Academy/Air-Force Academy

1. English - Total duration 2 hours and Total marks will be 100.
2. General Knowledge - Total duration 2 hours and Total marks will be 100.
3. Elementary Mathematics - Total duration 2 hours and Total marks will be 100.

For Officers Training Academy

1. English - Total duration 2 hours and Total marks will be 100.
2. General Knowledge - Total duration 2 hours and Total marks will be 100.

CDS stands for Combined defense Service exam which is held through UPSC every year
there are some eligibility criteria which the candidates have to fulfill before applying this exam...

*The candidates should be a a citizen of India.
*The candidates should a unmarried .
*The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university.
*The age limit is 21 - 30 yrs.

CDS-Combined Defence Service.

CDS has four wings:-

Naval academy,

Officer Training Academy,

Airforce academy,

Military academy.


This exam conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year.


Eligibility criteria:-

Candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university.

Percentage is not a matter to apply this examination.

Male and Female both are eligible for this exam.

Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Applicant should be physically fit.

Age criteria:-

Naval academy--> 19 to 22 years,

Military academy--> 19 to 24 years,
