im doing my 2nd year mechanical engineering now...
im gud at studies ive go an sgpa of 9.4 in the 1st sem an 9.1 in the 2nd semester....
i dream for doing a job which wud earn me a salary of 20,000 to 30,000 per month just after completion of my course
and im intrested in automobile and aeronautic field....
what shopuld i do to make my dream come true....im not sure about the placements from my college...so i wud like ti try in companies outside.....
pls suggest me some courses or ways......

Companies are excepting good mark form a student . They also be want practical knowledge from students, so you should do many projects, participate many internship programs in top core companies like Ford,Ashok leyland, tata and so on....you should know about auto cad , engine designing .

Let me first tell you ...your dream is not impossible to turn into reality..But its only possible if you dont think about it now...since you are in 1st year

its too early to think about salary...you have your Golden three years of engineering ahead of you..and its better if you enjoy these times...and who knows...your dreams will get bigger and better...

these companies give an initial package of around 25 thousands,
try to get job in campus placement itself

A salary of 20 to 30 k will be easy for you to grab as you are a good student who is performing extraordinarily great. So you should not worry about it.

If your college placements are not promising then you can apply offline for the companies. I remember true story of a guy from a bad college who applied offline in some of the top companies like Rolls Royce and he got through that. The test to get into the top core companies is intricate.

But you a good student so you should not worry much about it and dont worry about your salary and placements. Just keep working harder and harder and everything will be right of track

you ve to attend off campus interviews conducted in various colleges..also you can join in software concerns.you can also register for jobs in various websites such as monster.com

Your CGPA is very good and you dont need to worry much if you keep continue in this way.
Earning 20000- 30000 per month is possible. since you belong to Mechanical, You can go for companies like TCS, Ashok Leyland and even Infosys is recruiting many Mechanical student.
The basic pay for Infosys is Rs 24000 per month.

u are really good at your studies. there are so many options to fulfill your dream. try to gain practical knowledge as well. however after completion of your degree you can apply in good companies or in ies to get this type of salary packages.

You can continue with your efforts. You can take part in events which involves designing like robotics in your college and outside. This will boost your knowledge and resume when you apply for company.

after passing out as a mechanical engineer i think getting this salary is very much easy. but now you should not think about salary. just concentrate on your study and do well in all field.

if you have good knowledge than surely you will get a good job from your college or from offline campusing. they will give you a very good salary. you have a very good marks so i think you have very good theoretical knowledge no doubt.

but now you have to increase your practical knowledge. take training from very good industry. try to visit industry, consult with industry people for improvement of your knowledge. sure you will get the best.

whenever you will get job do not think about salary think about job satisfaction. because job satisfaction is the best thing to be successful later. so you should think about this. but salary is also important. you can not do many job with a less salary.

Getting a job of mentioned salary might not be that difficult for you,as you are a bright student but try to maintain till your Engineering degree.

If there are no placement facilities in your college try for offcampus which are conducted by many reputed companies.
You can take up some course as per your interest in pre- final or final year which will be a plus point for you.

But one thing i would like to advice is if you get ajob in some reputed company of your interest with lesser package as per your expectations,join it.Because after a year or two you will earn even more,experience matters alot.
I have seen many of my them rejecting the such offers just because of salaries and now they are finding it very difficult even to get a job.

So,don't ignore such opportunities just because of few thousands.
Work hard complete your degree,definitely you will have a bright future.

Dear Ashwin,

At starting grab this amount it is quite impossible,but can be also possible.As your result shows that you are a good student but recruiters not only satisfied with marks they also judge your basic knowledge of engineering and suitability.Campussing is not an option for getting jobs,try also government and PSU jobs,they pey better at starting.As you are in mechanical engineering so you have so many option at your hand.like ISRO,DRDO,IAF,INDIAN ARMY,INDIAN NAVY,SAIL,BHEL,TIL,INDIAN RAILWAY and so many options are open for you.

Don't worry about jobs if you have the potentiality then nothing can stop you.Just studied hard.

congrats for your good percentage,for getting good salary you should have complete depth of the subject and you must have good spoken english.
for your bright future i suggest,to do your master programme in mechanical or aeronautical branch.
short term courses also present for your branch like CAD,DESIGNING etc.

secondly, you have to know about all the latest information and technologies which are growing fast in your interesting field
A salary of 20-30K is not too high .you can easily get through it.
thirdly, you involve yourself in to some projects works which wiil enhance you in your field
fourthly, try to find some best company for your internships programs this will make a better career prospect for you.

if you are intrested in appearing GATE for doing M.TECH then you should study well right from this semester im this way you will be able to prove yourself more better as you want high payments

Getting that payscale is easy for a mechanical engineer with the GPA you have mentioned.
So if you were not sure about the placements in your college, then keep updates regarding off-campus walk-in interviews.
And also some companies keep in website regarding the job offers.you can apply through them and try to get.

this is your present task .. now from 6th semester you think about campus placement

you do courses like AUTOCADD,ARCHICADD,CADD PRO-E,to develop your academic basis..
as you are mechanical engineer,you have ample amount of oppurtunities in industry..
you develop your knowledge in the field of mechatronics,whics is going ahead now..
