Hi.. Your plan to go for BA Literature and then to prepare for IAS is very good.. But CA is another course. If you are interested to go for CA, then BCom will be the best option. Otherwise, you can do your graduation in English literature or any other languages and to prepare for Civil Service at the same time. You may can find institutes where you have a chance to get more exposure for your civil service preparation with the BA degree. To mention a few, Delhi university, Lovely Professional University, Ashoka university etc. So, you will get much exposure in your future if you are pursuing your course in these institutes.

IAS refers to Indian Administrative Service and to be an IAS officer you need to compete Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

The minimum eligibility criteria required for appearing in Civil Services examination are as here under :-

* You must hold the nationality of India.

* Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years. Further age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognized university.

Now as far as you are concerned about your eligibility for becoming IAS officer being BA in literature degree holder as for the same any bachelor degree holder candidate is eligible and there is no requirement for CA degree course.
